Our handmade Amish and Mennonite furniture is made with the finest selected hardwoods. Our craftsmen pay close attention to detail and take great pride in the quality and beauty of the finished product. When you buy from Country Lane, you invest in the best quality and you enjoy a work of nature, the warmth and beauty of our genuine hardwood handcrafted furniture. Buy from Country Lane Furniture and experience the Amish furniture difference, you'll be glad you did!
The predominant wood species used are Solid Cherry, Northern Red Oak, Black Walnut, and Maple. However, there are selected items available in Hickory (rustic or finely finished), Red Cedar, Pine, and Quarter-Sawn White Oak. Most of the above mentioned wood varieties are grown right here in Pennsylvania. There are many finishes for your choosing, including two-tone in paint and stain, paint combinations, stain combinations, high gloss, flat sheen, hand planed, and distressing. Most every item is available unfinished if you care to finish it yourself. We DO NOT sell imports, particle board, or "assemble-it-yourself-out-of-a-box" furniture.
Our aim is to provide you with everyday, user-friendly, solid, handcrafted furniture that reflects your style and tastes...furniture that can be handed down from generation to generation. All this at reasonable prices. To treat you the way we would want to be treated is our family goal. Please come visit our Amish furniture store in PA, we'll be glad to help you!

One-of-a-Kind Pieces

Your Mennonite and Amish furniture are crafted from solid hardwoods. Each board used tells a story. The unique grain pattern and texture makes your piece one-of-a-kind. Country Lane Furniture takes pride in honoring the craftsmanship of true furniture making, an art practically lost in today’s world of synthetic materials and mass-production. All one needs to do to see what happens to poor quality furniture is view the mountains of garbage growing skyward, sadly, in many areas of our beautiful country.

We recently visited one of our fore-parents homes located 17 kilometers east of Zurich Switzerland where our family lived before migrating here to Pennsylvania more than three hundred years ago in 1710. We were told it is thought that this house still has the original door hardware throughout the house from when they lived there in 1633. The house, the weaving building and the feed mill is still in good repair from those many years ago. So you can see how important conservation has been to our family’s past and into the future. Our grandparents of centuries ago have always practiced recycling/conservation and we pass this family tradition on today as an important part of our life.

Our local hardwoods are select harvested using best forest practices. This cuts out shipping expense and unneeded energy consumption and promotes our local economy, not to mention we can better know what practices are used in harvest of the timber. Experts in the our local forest industry believe there will be as much as 70% more hardwoods such as Sugar Maple, Red Oak, White Oak, Wild Cherry, Hickory and Brown Maple in the next fifty years out than what exists today in our area of timber harvest. For a healthy forest and for the good of all the forest creatures there must be select mature trees harvested so the next generation can receive the sun and grow. The animals need new growth and new young understory in order to roam and have cover protection. An open forest where you can view many yards ahead with clear walking paths and no understory is an unhealthy forest. A healthy forest is one where you cannot walk freely without getting tangled in the shrubs, briars, deadfalls and young saplings.
